Just got some good news. My friend and her husband are okay, and apparently their house has sustained very little damage. I am relieved, but still heartbroken about what is going on there. I have to believe that Lil has been spared to help. Hi Lil, if you're out there.
Please give what you can to help this broken nation recover and maybe remake itself in the aftermath of this catastrophe.
That's wonderful news! My prayers continue for Haiti and the rescue efforts there.
ReplyDeleteThanks Shannon. Now we are wondering if our rejoicing isn't premature. This news is very "third-hand". The parents are somewhat skeptical. We are waiting until they hear her voice.
ReplyDeleteHorray! Such wonderful news for you and all concerned. I'm hoping many more will be found - alive and well.
ReplyDeleteThanks for letting us know.
Keep us posted. Hopefully you can breathe a little easier, even though you're waiting for more solid news. I'm still waiting to hear about my sponsor child in Haiti. I think she lived more north of the disaster area, but I'm not positive. Even if she's not directly affected, 6,400 other children sponsored through Compassion International alone did live there. That country goes through so much...hurricanes, earthquakes. When will it stop?
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to hear that, Kristin. I hope they find the little girl and that she is getting cared for. I am praying that from the rubble will rise a better, stronger Haiti. I hope we don't abandon this forsaken place yet again. These are human beings.
ReplyDeleteThank you for posting this. I am always happy to know that others notice things like this and try to do what they can. That includes spreading awareness. I am so happy that your friends are okay!!!
ReplyDeleteSincerely,
Emma
Thank you, Emma. I hope the reports about my friend are accurate.
